Apple Releases Beta 2 Of iOS 14.2 With New Emojis

Apple has rolled out the second beta versions of iOS 14.2, iPadOS 14.2, watchOS 7.1, and tvOS 14.2 to developers. If the proper configuration file is installed, iOS 14.2 can be directly updated via OTA.

iOS 14.2 beta 1 introduces the Shazam control that will recognize songs by tap it on the Control Center. There is also a new "People Detection" feature in the Magnifier app, which intends to use the camera to let iPhone users know how far away other people are. The media controls in the Control Center now include content suggestions when nothing is being played.

Meanwhile, beta 2 added a handful of new emoji characters for users, but most of them were previewed in July. However, as Emojipedia points out, there are a few emojis that we have not seen from Apple until today, which includes Smiling Face with Tear and Disguised Face, as well as Apple's gender variations for people wearing a Tuxedo or Veil.

The beta also confirmed iPhone 12 won't include EarPods in the box. In iOS 14 and early versions of iOS, the use of "supplied headphones" was mentioned to reduce radiation exposure, which is the same wording used for many years. However, in iOS 14.2, the wording has been adjusted to "headphones", thereby deleting the "supplied" part of the statement.

But, other than that, we have discovered any new features yet. If you did find one, do let us know by leaving a comment down below.
