Alongside AirTag and sixth-generation Apple TV, Apple also unveiled a brand new, redesigned 24-inch iMac, the new device is equipped with an M1 chip and an improved 1080p FaceTime front camera, and there are a variety of colors to choose from.

“M1 is a gigantic leap forward for the Mac, and today we’re excited to introduce the all-new iMac, the first Mac designed around the breakthrough M1 chip,” said Greg Joswiak, Apple’s senior vice president of Worldwide Marketing. “With its striking design in seven stunning colors, its immersive 4.5K Retina display, the best camera, mics, and speakers ever in a Mac, and Touch ID, combined with the amazing performance of M1 and the power of macOS Big Sur, the new iMac takes everything people love about iMac to an entirely new level.”

The 2021 iMac is the first iMac launched by Apple after years of using Intel chips with a custom-built processor M1 chip. Thanks to the efficient M1 chip, the new iMac uses a newly designed cooling system. Apple said that the iMac is 85% faster on apps such as Xcode, Lightroom, and iMovie than previous models.

The new iMac also includes an expansive 24-inch 4.5K Retina display with narrower borders and 11.3 million pixels. With a P3 wide color gamut and over a billion colors, plus 500 nits of brightness, images are vivid and more brilliant.

Furthermore, the new iMac utilizes a three-microphone array, and comes with a more powerful speaker system, and supports Dolby Audio and Spatial Audio. There are 4 USB-C ports on the back of the fuselage, two of which are Thunderbolt 3, and a new magnetic connector. It is also equipped with an updated Magic Keyboard that supports Touch ID.

The new 24-inch iMac is available to order beginning Friday, April 30, on apple.com and in the Apple Store app. iMac with 7-core GPU starts at $1,299 (US) and $1,249 (US) for education, while iMac with 8-core GPU starts at $1,499 (US) and $1,399 (US) for education.
